Our next volunteer spotlight shines on Barbara Fleischmann!
Barbara was nominated by one of our cake recipients for whom she went the extra mile.
Our recipient wrote: “Barb went above and beyond… [when] we were having a really hard time trying to recover from being robbed of our livelihood.” Our spotlight baker picked up a cake for the recipient’s four year old girl who was a big Jojo Siwa fan. After receiving the cake, “[her daughter] was so happy and talked about it to everybody and still talks about it to everybody.”
The recipient further wrote “Barb is [an] incredible woman and she talk[ed] to me that day when she dropped off the cake and just I couldn’t believe how much she went through.” In addition to the four year old, Barbara has not only made a basketball themed cake for the recipient’s son, but has also volunteered for an upcoming cake request for her three year old daughter.
“I honestly don’t know what I would do without people like you,” said the recipient.
Barbara’s first cake for the group was a strawberry shortcake for a 17 year old girl back in October of 2022.
Her contributions to Columbus Cake Celebrations go further than baking, she has also served as one of our board members since the board began its work last September.
Barbara is always there to encourage bakers and consistently leaves positive feedback on everyone’s baking adventures on facebook.
At this point she has baked many cakes for our group, and continues to help in every way she can. She has even had other members of her household help in creating some of the fabulous cakes she’s delivered–she knows baking can be a joy that’s shared by many.
Please join us in thanking Barbara for her dedication, positivity, and hard work. Columbus Cake Celebrations is all the better for having you as a member.
